Baked Ham Strata
Yields 8 Servings
12 Slices Firm White Bread
3 Tbls Butter, Softened
3/4 Lb Swiss Cheese
1/2 Lb Boiled Ham, Diced
2 1/2 Cups Milk
5 LARGE Eggs
3 Green Onions, Trimmed & Chopped
4 tsp Dijon Mustard
1/4 tsp Black Pepper, Ground
1/4 tsp Salt
Toast the white bread.
Spread butter on one side of each slice.
Whisk the milk, eggs, mustard, salt and pepper
together in a bowl.
Butter a (9"x13") baking dish.
Place half of the toast in the dish.
Sprinkle half the cheese, half the ham and half the
onions over the toast.
Cover with the remaining toast slices.
Top with the remaining ham, cheese and onions.
Slowly pour the egg mixture over.
Cover with aluminum foil.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil.
Bake until the top is lightly browned (5-10 minutes
longer).
Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
