Lasagna by Lanie
0.5 lb. Italian sausage (hot)
1.0 lb. hamburger
0.5 clove garlic, minced
1.5 teaspoon whole basil
0.75 teaspoon salt
0.5 lb. canned tomatoes
6.0 oz. canned tomato paste
1.5 cup of ricotta cheese
0.25 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
1.0 Tablespoon parsley flakes
1 egg
1.0 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon black pepper (ground)
0.5 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
1 package lasagna noodles
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Farenheit.
Brown meat slowly and spoon off excess fat. Add next
five ingredients, being careful to leave out the
cheese. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes.
Cook noodles in large amount of boiling water with
salt.
Combine remaining ingredients, except Mozzarella
cheese.
Place half of the noodles in a baking dish. Spread
with half the ricotta cheese filling mix. Add half of
the mozzarella cheese and half of the meat mix. Repeat
layers. Save one or two extra noodles to cover top
while in oven.
Bake at 375 degrees F about 30 minutes. Let stand ten
minutes before cutting into squares...filling will set
slightly. Remove top layer of covering noodles and
discard.
